Sometimes the hard thing for me is getting out of bed, making a good choice about a snack or meal, taking out the compost, clearing the kitchen sink drain that is backed up, getting myself out for a walk, or having a difficult conversation.

Only the living can smell death.

The Earth took it! The fire, air, and water loosened it up but the Earth held that layer of me when the rest came back to the surface. Maybe it still lives down there below where the warmth of the sun and tree roots reach. That part of me that I needed to “be someone”, to be interesting. Maybe it is composted and feeds other life in a more wild way.

Starting over takes courage.
